Slavery

Part 1 of 3 on Slavery: Part 1 Slavery, Part 2 Voluntary Slavery, Part 3 Existence of Slavery.

Slavery comes in many forms and under many titles that are not easily recognized as slavery.

Slavery can exist under involuntary servitude, social compacts, private agreements or voluntary relinquishment of basic essential natural rights.

To understand Slavery, you must first: understand Freedom.

First that you possess, through Nature and Natures God, essential natural rights;

That these rights are inalienable, and that even you cannot voluntarily give them away or sell them as this would be voluntary slavery.

Among these rights, are:

Life and sanity of mind as nature and nature's God intended, and to which you are entitled.

Declaration of Independence 1776:

"When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them."

Liberty, to come and go without license, permit, paper or privilege using whatever means that is available to you. And that such means or property cannot ever be taken from you or encumbered.

Rights of the Colonists 1772

"Just and true liberty, equal and impartial liberty" in matters spiritual and temporal, is a thing that all Men are clearly entitled to, by the eternal and immutable laws Of God and nature, as well as by the law of Nations, & all well grounded municipal laws, which must have their foundation in the former.--"

"The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man; but only to have the law of nature for his rule."--

Property, the right to own it absolutely and the right to possess that property without it ever being taken from you or your decedents by taxes or other means imposed or taken without your consent.

Rights of the Colonists 1772

"...Now what liberty can there be, where property is taken away without consent?

"The supreme power cannot Justly take from any man, any part of his property without his "CONSENT", in person or by his Representative.--"

" These are some of the first principles of natural law & Justice, and the great Barriers of all free states," ...

That Property cannot be taken for the general welfare:

Constitutional Convention Debates - MONDAY, June 16, 1788. [1] [Elliot misprinted this as Monday, June 14, 1788.] :

George Mason: "But I wish a clause in the Constitution, with respect to all powers which are not granted, that they are retained by the states. Otherwise, the power of providing for the "general welfare" may be "perverted" to its "destruction". .... Unless there be some express declaration that every thing not given is "retained", it will be carried to any power Congress may please."

Rights of the Colonists 1772:

Samuel Adams: "Governors have no right to seek what they please; by this, instead of being "content" with the station "assigned" them, that of honourable "servants" of the society, they would soon become Absolute masters, Despots, and Tyrants. Hence as a private "man" has a right to say, what wages he will give in his private affairs, so has a Community to determine what they will give and grant of their Substance, for the Administration of publick affairs. And in both cases more are ready generally to offer their Service at the proposed and stipulated price, than are able and willing to perform their duty.--"

"In short it is the greatest absurdity to suppose it in the power of one or any number of men at the entering into society, to renounce their essential natural rights, or the means of preserving those rights when the great end of civil government from the very nature of its institution is for the support, protection and defence of "those very rights": the principal of which as is before observed, are life liberty and property. If men through fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce and give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the great end of society, would absolutely vacate such renunciation; the [Volume 5, Page 396] right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of Man to alienate this gift, and voluntarily become a slave--"

Rights or powers are not derived from either the general government or the states. But rights are dictated by the laws of nature and of natures God (Judeo / Christian - See rights of the Colonists as Christians) and powers which must as previously presented in the Rights of the Colonists have their foundations firmly in those laws. Powers are given to the state by the people and the state and general government must protect those essential natural rights.

Virginia Ratifying Convention of the Constitution, MONDAY, June 16, 1788:

John Marshall: " The state governments did not derive their powers from the general government; but each government "derived its powers from the people", and each was to act according to the powers given it. Would any gentleman deny this? He demanded if powers not given were retained by implication. Could any man say so? Could any man say that this power was not retained by the states, as they had not given it away? For, says he, does not a power remain till it is given away?

Marshall Continued with regard to "powers":

... The state legislatures had power to command and govern their militia before, and have it still, undeniably, unless there be something in this Constitution that takes it away."

"... I will show {420} that there could not be a combination, between those who formed the Constitution, to take away this power...."

... For Continental purposes Congress may call forth the militia, as to suppress insurrections and repel invasions. But the power given to the states by the people is "not taken away";

for the Constitution does not say so.

In the Confederation Congress had this power; but the state legislatures had it "also"."

Essential Natural Rights are Powers, that cannot be given away, sold, bargained for, voted away through a democratic, representative, or legislative process; With or without a individual's consent:

Rights of the Colonists 1772:

It is those essential natural rights for which all men are entitled, defined and undefined, that is of freedom;

It is the relinquishment, voluntarily or involuntarily, of any essential natural right, or any other right not "necessarily" ceded that defines slavery.

They are Collectives; Cartels and Monopolies; Creating not free trade, but "exclusive privileged trade".

When challenged, fiscal republicans scream "freedom of contract" ; Which has been corrupted by the addition of the "exclusive privilege" in the form of the corporation, which should not exist in a free country; and should not be or have unlimited grant of contract; as it's whole existence is subject to the general public;

That others can create corporations is no excuse to allow something that "should not exist in the fist place"; Exclusive Privileged Collectives eventually choke out true free enterprise; Where as independents are crowded out, they tend to migrate to those collectives for survival which worsens the situation.

Further, it allows foreign control, through stocks, of American soil and businesses; These subvert the powers of the local legislative, causing dependency of those it employs, to foreign interests; who owe homage to a foreign legislature;

This is against the philosophy of freedom;

See John Locke regarding Toleration, where citizens owing homage to another entity (power - Pope used as the example back then) gives way to granting that entity soldiers against the local legislative (magistrate) to be stationed within the borders of a Magistrates own Country;

This is opposed to the local legislative which is supposed to be supreme (limited powers granted by the people), to be fully supported by the people and in-turn for the legislative to be fully in defense of the people's local interests and safety;
